Executive Director/CEO of NJ Community College Consortium for Workforce & Economic Development
Mr. Anbarasan is the Executive Director/CEO of NJ Community College Consortium for Workforce & Economic Development in Trenton. He has been in higher education for over 12 years, working as Executive Dean at Camden County College and Sussex County Community College, and as a consultant at NJIT in their continuing education divisions.
At the Consortium, he directs several statewide workforce development initiatives, including the NJBIA Basic Skills Training and the Advance Manufacturing Training-On-Demand programs, funded by NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development. He also represents the community college sector in various statewide committees including Lt. Governor’s Innovation Council, SETC’s Employability Skills Committee and NJBIA’s Manufacturing Network. He has developed and received many state and federal grants.
Prior to getting involved in higher education, Mr. Anbarasan worked in the IT industry for over 23 years, including Unisys Corporation as a Regional Manager. He founded his own IT company in 1995 and employed over 100 IT professionals nationwide. His company received a Rising Star award from NJTC before getting sold to a Canadian software company in 2001.
Mr. Anbarasan holds a graduate degree in Electrical Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and a MBA from University of Pittsburgh.
